Dr Clancy is a rural OHNS Surgeon, AICD graduate, Chair Rural Surgery Section, Vice Chair Rural Health Equity Steering Committee RACS, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, ASOHNS Federal Council and 2019 Telstra Business Womens Award finalist. Dr Clancy is an advocate for equity and inclusion for people, in health, justice and education, particularly for rural and other underserved communities. Rural Health Equity With the rural surgery section committee, Dr Clancy developed the Select for Rural, Train for Rural, Retain for Rural and Collaborate for Rural policy papers. These papers formed the basis for the RACS Rural Health Equity Strategic Action Plan 2020. Diversity Equity and Inclusion Dr Clancy developed and implemented the ASOHNS Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2020. The strategy aims to deliver the core mission of ASOHNS: excellence in OHNS care for our community. The strategy will improve outcomes for patients and allow OHNS surgeons to reach their full potential, through working toward mirroring the diversity of the community we serve and removing any barriers to full participation of the OHNS workforce. |
