Working as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) at Wellington Regional Hospital, Aimee specialises in airway and advanced pain management. She completed her undergrad at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin and has since been working towards her PGDip in Nursing Sciences at Victoria University in Wellington.
Aimee became the PACU liaison nurse for tracheostomy cares after working casually during her new graduate year at ABI, where the majority of long term patients have tracheostomies. Tracheostomies are not something regularly seen in the unit and therefore when it is done, it can be intimidating for our nurses, Aimee ‘s role as the liaison nurse is to provide support and education to minimalize any concerns the team has when caring for these patients.
