Associate Professor Psaltis has a strong research interest, having completed a PhD in 2008 researching the role of bacterial biofilms in CRS . He has authored 151 peer-reviewed articles, 15 book chapters and serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Otolaryngology, American Journal of Rhinology, Annals of Otology and Laryngology and the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy . He is also a reviewer for 12 international ENT journals. In Adelaide he is on the board of training for ENT in South Australia and is a national examiner for entry into ENT in Australia. He has been an invited speaker at over 70 international conferences.
What To Do When Polyps Recur
Polyp recurrence post endoscopic sinus surgery occurs in up to 40% of patients. This presentation will discuss the treatments available for patients with recalcitrant sinus disease and provide a structured patient-specific treatment paradigm for polyp patients based on histopathological features. Treatments reviewed will include steroid irrigations, low dose macrolide therapy, aspirin desensitization and the emerging role of biological agents.
